Gooey Caramelised Onion and Mozzarella Garlic Bread ?
When I first starting going to restaurants with my partner (a good 13 years ago now ?), we liked to go to Prezzo (amongst other places). There was one in Cardiff where he went to uni, so when I used to go visit him on weekends we’d dress up and go out for a nice meal (we were students!). We’d nearly always order the same thing to start – the garlic bread with balsamic onions & mozzarella – being one of them. Now I make it at home.
My cheats version uses leftover pizza dough (we always make extra and keep a few balls in the fridge for various dishes), brushed with a little garlic butter, 1/3 of a jar of caramelised onions and mozzarella. I whack the oven up as high as it goes and give it a good 12mins until bubbling and golden. It’s delicious on it’s own, as a side to pasta dishes or part of a picky kinda dinner. Hit save for when your bored of standard garlic bread and need some inspo, I love it ?
