CARAMEL SWIRL, CHOC CHIP BANANA LOAF:
Another week…another swirl cake. As voted for by YOU over on stories, here’s the latest in the swirl cake series: banana sponge cake with caramel swirl and dark chocolate chips. Better than banana bread. Yep I said it. ?
——
INGREDIENTS (makes 1 loaf cake):
5oz cooking butter (I use salted)
5oz caster sugar (I used golden)
1tsp vanilla extract
2 medium bananas (very ripe/super brown)
9oz self raising flour
1tsp baking powder
1 large egg
Splash milk (approx. 30ml)
100g chocolate chips (I like dark)
1tsp salted caramel flavouring (I found some at waitroseandpartners)
1tbsp salted caramel (bonnemaman_uk make a delicious already made one)
