FRENCH ONION SOUP TOPPED WITH BÉCHAMEL ‘CRUST’:
I’ve decided that, hands-down, THIS is my favourite soup (it might have something to do with the fact that I also HEART cheese!)… Rich, oniony soup laced with sauvignon blanc meets gooey gruyère croûtons nestled in a creamy béchamel sauce. My favourite bit is breaking through the cheese ‘crust’ to get to the soup below; when you pull the spoon back out a long, stringy piece of gruyère comes along for the ride… Delish! ?
